Winter Car Survival Tips
The calendar says it’s the holiday season and the temperature outside feels like winter is arriving right on schedule. As you prepare for holiday and winter road travel over the next few months, now is the time to prepare a “winter survival kit” for your vehicle.
Each year thousands of people get stranded on highways that become impassable. Even with a trusty cell phone, there are no guarantees that help will be readily available. The fact is you can be prepared to stay in your vehicle until help arrives with just a little bit of planning. A good winter survival kit should include: bottled water, snacks, blankets, medication/first aid, small candles w/matches, flashlight (extra batteries), tow strap and small shovel. Having these items packed in a tote bin will take only a small amount of space but could potentially save your life.
